Jumper

Magnolia has been working out the kinks in her new jumper lately. At first, she couldn't really stand flat-footed with both feet at the same time, so she would touch one foot down and sort of pirouette around. But she's starting to get her footing now. Here are some shots of her modeling the new contraption:

"I make this look good........"

"That last caption was hilarious Dad!"

"Does my butt look big in this thing?"

The Play Mat

Magnolia has been enjoying tummy time on her surf board play mat.

Playing with the Diminos

Magnolia has been getting to know our friends (and neighbors) the Diminos. They own and operate Traditions Photography in South Bend. They do great work. If you don't know them, you should check out their website. http://www.traditionsphotography.com/ And as an added bonus, Magnolia's 3-month pictures are on the site (click on "online proofing" in the top right corner and then go to the set titled "Jenica Cory"). There are some great pictures on there, but they will only be there for a couple more days, so check them out while supplies last! And go ahead and order some if you feel so inclined. :)

The Diminos have two kids - Jacob is 2 1/2 and Penelope is about 5 1/2 months. She was born 6 weeks before Magnolia. Notice in the pictures that she and Magnolia are the same size (a combination of Penelope being a petite little thing and Magnolia being in the 95th percentile!). They get along really well - Jacob likes being the big brother, watching over the girls. The girls' "playing" usually just involves Penelope grabbing Magnolia's hand and chewing on it.

Here are some pics of the three of them in action:

Putting their heads together...........

Cold weather

The temperatures this winter in South Bend have been all over the place (which turns driving around town into a game of "dodge the potholes"). But the last couple of weeks, we've had some ridiculously cold days (i.e. windchill of 25 degrees below zero). We've really had to bundle Magnolia up to take her outside.

Baby, it's cold outside.

The Abominable Snow-Baby

Trip to Valpo

Magnolia and her Mom went to Valparaiso earlier this month to see Grandma Kathy and the rest of the fam around there. They had fun....maybe a little too much fun?

"Aunt Brooke, I'm exhausted."

Back Online!

Sorry for the delay in posting (been 3 weeks since our last post). I'll try to compensate with a bunch of pictures of Magnolia and hilarious jokes (wish me luck!).

"3 weeks since the last post Dad? That makes me sad."

"Really sad!"

"OK, better now. Just don't let it happen again."

Things have been going well....Dan is busy with school and work. Jenica is busy with Miss Magnolia. She is going to be turning 4 months tomorrow! It's unbelievable how fast these 4 months have gone by. She is getting so big (weight and length-wise). We'll find out next week exactly how big she is now!

Magnolia went to the hospital to visit her Mimi (Mary) a couple of times last week. She had surgery last Saturday and is still in the recovery process., so please keep her in your prayers!

Magnolia is grasping her toys really well at this point and talking (cooing) a lot. The giggles are starting to pop up more often (especially for Mom) and the smiles (as always) continue to flow!

Magnolia's absolute favorite thing at this point is music. As soon as she hears any kind of tune, she locks in on it and smiles. She likes it when her Dad sings to her in a high-pitched voice (which her Dad likes to do anyway, but that's between you and me, so don't tell anyone!). The other day, we watched a DVD of the Johnny Cash Show and afterward Dad was singing the song "Jackson" by Johnny and June Carter Cash to her. She got a huge smile on her face and started belting out one coo after another. I'm pretty sure she was trying to sing June's part of the duet. :)

Kiss Me, I'm Irish

Magnolia got a new outfit.....

Okay, so she's not full-blooded Irish, but there are some Irish ancestors somewhere in her lineage.....so it's not NOT true. And plus, she's going to be a loyal ND football fan, so she's Irish by choice. No matter what the justification is, she deserves kisses.

"Just kiss me, you fool."

She's fallen in love with her pink bunny in the past week......here are some shots of them together in the swing:

"Can we have some privacy please?"

"Hey, you like Notre Dame too?"

Go Irish!!!!
